Full Metal Panic! S01 BDs 06/24

Equipped with cutting-edge weaponry and specialized troops, a private military organization named Mithril strives to extinguish the world’s terrorism and all threats to peace on earth.
The organization is powered by the “Whispered,” individuals who possess intuitive knowledge and the remarkable ability to create powerful devices and machinery.
Seventeen-year-old Sousuke Sagara, a sergeant working for Mithril, has been assigned to protect Kaname Chidori, a Whispered candidate.
He is ordered to join her high school class and be as close to her as possible to prevent her from falling into enemy hands—that is, if he can safely blend in with their fellow classmates without revealing his true identity.
Sousuke, who was raised on a battlefield and has very little knowledge of an average high school student’s lifestyle, must adapt to a normal school life to safeguard Kaname.
However, enemy forces have already begun making their move, and Sousuke is about to find out that the adversary coming for the Whispered girl may be a lot more familiar than he expects.

Subs originate from KAA. timing fixed.
OPED sourced from the R1DVDs.
This release uses the USBDs since they’re “better”, but nonetheless crap.

Always been one of my favorite shows, thanks for doing the BDs. But I have to ask why is so much effort being put into making releases for shows that already have good releases? [-__-‘] Used KAA already as well and the [Tormaid] release for FMP seemed pretty good, Maybe you can shed some light on the reason to do this release?

Also I have the DVDISO’s for Crest of the stars and have started working on fixing the subtitles already but am not experienced at all in encoding. Is this something you (or another team member) would be interested in doing together? Otherwise I will just use E-Ds encode which isn’t very good.

Well, the series I share mostly follow my own preferences.
I dunno if shirohamada fixed the terrible KAA timing, nor do I know whether he bothered restyling the scripts or not (which is badly needed) and I haven’t taken a look at Tormaid’s either..
Releasing my projects publically is like uh, “Because I can” with the goal of giving fans of the respective series a decent version to watch.
To me, it doesn’t matter much if the subs were used on a different release before – if one fancies the other release, he can grab that one.

Well maybe you can use the script Shirohamada used if he did fix the timing etc then it could save you some work at least.

I don’t know if I can write about it here, but I would need some seed for the two series of Toaru Kagaku no Railgun if possible.
Anyway on the subject in question, I don’t think there was a good release of FMP (simple past because without bakabt and nyaa I really don’t know where someone could find the same bd versions that I tried) and with the fourth season in program this could really be a nice present for many.
“Video quality-wise” they were better than other dvd releases but clearly a bad upscale (but I’ve seen even worse outcomes, for example Noein).
